Temperatur controller / Extruder Board for EMC2 Reprap over Rs232

thingiverse

Designed for an EMC RepRap, the board is connected to the PC's serial port and controlled by EMC2 Axis interface using gcodes. Unlike traditional RepRaps, it uses RS232 instead of RS485. Featuring an ATMega168 controller compatible with Arduino, it includes 3 temperature sensor inputs, 3 FET outputs for heater/bed control, a serial port for host PC communication, ISP pins for UC programming or flashing bootloader, UART pins for FT232 USB-serial translator programming, I2C connectivity, and 4 general-purpose pins with VCC/GND. SMD components are used for resistors and capacitors. The board does not include a stepper controller or motor driver for the extruder as it can be driven directly by EMC through parallel port signals. Firmware and plugin for EMC2 are in development, and user suggestions for modifications are welcome. A successful connection to EMC2 has been demonstrated with a video on YouTube.
