telrad dovetail mount
thingiverse
After buying a telrad finder for my Skywatcher Dobson 200/1200 telescope I had a hard time attaching the thing to my tubus. The mount that came with the telrad didnt fit into my already existing dovetail mount. I dont want to say that the stock telrad mount is bad, but I am not a big fan of glueing things to my telescope. And even if you do so, it is located so close to the tubus meaning that you would have cheek-to-tubus contact if you want to use the telrad properly. To be honest I dont know why the telrad doesn't come with a dovetail mount. That would have been really handy. But this is where my little design comes into play. This thing allows you to mount the telrad directly into the dovetail mount located on your telescope. It even creates a little space between the tubus and the telrad. **Important:** You will need two m3 brass inserts for the two screws holding the telrad in place. Simply use your soldering iron to install them. Short inserts work better for this design then longer ones. The ones I use (cheap one from amazon) are 6mm in length.
