Tello Mirror Clip
thingiverse
This simple clip makes it easy to attach a small mirror pane to the front of the Tello, giving you a clear view looking straight down. I'm experimenting with making the mirror as compact as possible, but may need to slightly enlarge it since I can still see edges in these sample shots. Because it's so lightweight, I print at .15mm layer thickness and it prints extremely quickly. To create the clip, I cut an 18mm square from flexible plastic mirror sheets that I bought on Amazon. Here's a link to purchase them: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07173LNJ3/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Cutting these sheets with a fresh razor is incredibly easy. Note: I don't think the Tello is well-suited for recording video via a mirror. The image stabilization seems to only work with horizontal video capture, and the reflected image suffers from significant video jello. However, it does take great still shots. I've also updated the frame design to hold the mirror at the base instead of the top.
