Human: a modular expandable tool. You control rod diameter, layer thickness, cap and base diameter, and number of layers. The size of the rod when extended and the size of the gap area are displayed upon compilation with OpenScad Instructions Disclaimer I haven't got a printer yet, so this hasn't been tested. It might be a really bad design that will never print properly. This is basically a split conic shape. Make sure to set the variable deploie to 0 before printing (so all segments lie on the plate) As this is my first upload, I'm having trouble getting code blocks working. I'll also try using the customization interface. --Edit I tried slicing this in Cura, and realized each segment should be considered a shape with an inner and outer shell, with some material filling inside. This might result in messy output for prints with ep < 2mm Maybe it would be better to create segments as solid (ie no csg subtract) and let Cura build the shell only (infill=0%) with a 0.8mm wall thickness. I'm eager to get my Ultimaker Original and try this out..
