Telescope Primary Mirror Bracket

Telescope Primary Mirror Bracket

This is a work in progress, with updated parts being uploaded as they are designed. This small part is just one of many that make up a large project, which will take some time to complete. I am currently designing a modular telescope and plan to upload the individual components as I finish them. Eventually, a larger project combining all the parts will be available for download. The adjustable primary mirror bracket is designed to function with the following components: 6 M3 screws of varying length 6 M3 nuts 4 0.035"x0.25"x0.5" or similar springs Some felt or other grippy, soft material Optional: 2 M5 screws to attach the bracket to a surface 2 M5 nuts To assemble this part, place M3 screws from the back and underside of the stationary component and add springs to them. Insert M3 nuts into the slots on the lower holder part and secure the screws with the nuts. It's easier to do the lower screws first and then the horizontal screws. Apply felt or other material to the lower part of the lower holder and place the primary mirror on top. Add felt to the upper holder near the area that will come into contact with the mirror, insert two M3 nuts into the unused slots on the lower holder, and secure the last two screws through the upper holder and into the lower holder. This design is intended for use with a mirror that is 3/4" thick. If any errors or omissions are found in the files, please notify me so I can make corrections as soon as possible.
