Telescope eyepiece mount for iPhone 5 (LaMee Labs)
thingiverse
Attach this two-piece mount for iPhone 5 to a standard 1 1/4" telescope eyepiece by snapping and gluing the parts together. Ideal for party viewing or use it with a video feed by tethering. For a secure fit, use a rubber band or velcro strap alongside a delicate touch. Before gluing, test-fit the barrel to the case. Apply model glue on both pins and contact surface of the barrel, then snap them together. Remove the rubber shade from the eyepiece and slide it into the barrel for a tight fit; use coarse sandpaper inside the barrel if you desire a looser fit for easier or faster switching between eyepieces. Adjusting the focus on the camera app while locking it makes fine-tuning simpler, and a remote shutter control can prevent jiggling of the telescope during shooting. The distance between the iPhone's camera and the telescope eyepiece is approximately 5mm, resulting in a smaller field of view than the phone's display but still acceptable. The build time using Makerbot with acceleration is around one hour. Designed using Tinkercad at tinkercad.com/things/gB2P7x8ZQYT.
