Telescope Dovetail Base
thingiverse
Bought a used 12-inch Dobsonian telescope during Christmas break. It came with all the necessary components, but the dovetail mount had a broken ear that prevented the finderscope from staying in place. A friend of mine took the damaged piece and created a precise file for my DaVinci Pro. The file was printed in PLA because that was the material loaded at the time. It now fits perfectly to the telescope, and the finder scope even sits better on this mount than it did originally. To ensure a secure fit, you will need to tap one of the ears for a set screw, which is not necessary with this print since I made two. Print Settings: Printer: DaVinci Pro Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.3 mm Infill: 100% Notes: Printed on Kapton tape on a perfectly level bed, so a raft was unnecessary. The screw holes are small enough that supports were not needed. The PLA used was DaVinci brand PLA. I'm unsure of the exact temperature (printed over a month ago), but I think it was 205.
