Telephoto FD Lens Tripod Collar
thingiverse
I was struggling with camera shake during video recording when using my 70-210 FD lens on my Panasonic GH5. Unbalanced and frustrating, so I created a solution to work seamlessly with my Manfrotto tripod. This setup perfectly balances my Panasonic GH5 camera body and lens, eliminating nearly all shake from the shot. With this configuration and a tripod, I can zoom in confidently without visible camera shake on my video clips. Every knob and dial functions flawlessly after being fitted with the collar. I plan to leave it attached to the lens at all times now. The tripod mount is specifically designed for Manfrotto 200PL. To get the most out of this design, I recommend printing it at 100% infill density. Although I'm not sure if it works below that level, it's worth a try. When tightening the bolts, be cautious not to overdo it, as printed plastic can crack easily. I made this mistake on my first print and cracked my upper collar. The goal is to have a small gap between the upper and lower parts when tightened - this is normal. Here are the hardware components you'll need: 1. Canon FD 70-210 lens 2. Two 5/16" x 1 1/4" rods 3. Two 5/16" hex nuts 4. A compatible Manfrotto 200PL tripod Let me know if this solution proves useful for you!
