This vintage 1913 NYR5 model from Western Electric produced an ear-piercing tone, exactly once per second, and was intended specifically for operation by manual Morse code senders using keys or mechanical senders. In use as part of telegraph networks throughout the US until its discontinuation in 1934, it's still highly prized today for hobbyist projects involving classic equipment restoration, antique collections, and historical educational presentations showcasing the fundamentals of Morse code transmission and deciphering in early telegraph operations.
