TEKTONIC - World's First 3D Printable Mid Drive System on Thingiverse! PLEASE NOTE: I'm no longer actively developing this project. Currently, I'm focusing on a more streamlined version 2: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3105152 Over the past year, I've been working tirelessly on this bike design, refining it through two prototypes before arriving at this final version. This high-performance bike boasts serious power and is currently equipped with a 3KW brushless motor, capable of reaching speeds up to 40mph. It's my daily commuter, and so far, it has proven to be incredibly reliable. Before embarking on this build, I strongly advise you to research your local regulations regarding ebikes to ensure compliance. The mid drive system offers numerous benefits, including the ability to connect the motor directly to your rear gears. This innovative design enables effortless climbing of steep hills and exhilarating downhill rides without putting excessive strain on the motor, providing a thrilling experience similar to riding a motorbike. Thanks to the freewheel mechanism, I can pedal freely without engaging the gearbox, adding an extra layer of convenience. Keep in mind that bike geometry may vary, so this design is specifically tailored for Boardman comp large size frames. You'll need to create custom brackets for different frame types.
