I thought that a top-notch spool holder should have the following attributes: Easy to construct, Minimal filament usage for building, No bearings or other components beyond prints (as they are not necessary for such use!), Low friction in rotation, Aesthetically pleasing design. The filament spool can be removed and swapped with a different color effortlessly. It must accommodate multiple spool types in width, and in spool holes. It should stand without being screwed into place. It can be screwed onto a wooden platform. Some filament guides are necessary to prevent filament from going off track. A dust filter is required to filter out debris. It can function as either a horizontal or vertical spool holder, depending on preference. Teinturman's Spool Holder is my proposal to fulfill all these requirements: The core concept revolves around the absence of a transverse axis; the bushings rotate on both sides of the spool holder, allowing for easy bending of the legs to insert or remove a spool. Multiple screw holes are provided to enable any desired mounting configuration, particularly to fit neatly within Teinturman's enclosure. The legs can be slid in width to accommodate small or large spool holders. The default bushing diameter is 52mm. Changing the bushing is relatively straightforward by removing the pin. A parametric bushing design will soon be available for customization. In some cases, having a bushing that accommodates two sizes would be beneficial, but this is a future enhancement opportunity.
