Trench Y in the Upper Holt, Teffont, stands out for its strategic placement on a hilltop terrace previously identified with structures. Excavation yielded a hard-packed stone surface spanning the entire length of the trench, prompting further investigation. A sondage was strategically positioned at an odd angle to probe the depth and potential underlying features of the surface, initially believed to be a wall running diagonally across the trench.
