The personable and affectionate symbol of a child's earliest years is called Teddy-bear. It was initially called after President Theodore Roosevelt, known for his strong and bold nature. He reportedly declined to shoot a tied-up black bear that had been caught by hunters in Mississippi back in 1902. A woman from the city of Brownie sewed up a cuddly toy and named it "Teddy's bear", which eventually came to be known as the lovable stuffed animal, Teddy-bear.
