Working on an older Coleman MAXA 4000 generator with a Tecumseh motor required some creative problem-solving since it lacked an air box. To resolve this issue, I designed and fabricated a custom carburetor air intake system that fits perfectly around the engine's carburetor. The air entry hole is precisely measured at 1 inch in diameter. Furthermore, the mounting holes are spaced 1.5 inches apart, ensuring a secure fit on the generator. This innovative design was inspired by a humble washing sponge I obtained from a dollar store. Measuring 4-1/4 inches long, 2-5/8 inches wide, and 3/4 inch thick, it provided the ideal template for creating a functional air intake system. I utilized DesignSpark Mechanical, a powerful CAD software, to bring this design to life. With its robust features and intuitive interface, I was able to create a precise and efficient air intake system that meets the unique needs of my Coleman MAXA 4000 generator with Tecumseh motor.
