This is a custom-made caliper adapter designed for individuals with limited hand mobility, particularly those who have lost their thumb. The adapter enhances the handle of the caliper by beefing up its movable frame, allowing users to grip it more securely. It attaches snugly to the inner side of the thumb lever and the upper portion of the movable frame. The design of this adapter must be tailored to fit specific calliper shapes, ensuring a precise and comfortable fit for each user. This innovative product was created as part of a collaborative project between the Mutual de Seguridad C.Ch.C from Chile, the Direction of Innovation and Development, and the Neuro Rehabilitation Institute. Gather necessary materials: a printed adapter, a caliper, a heat gun, and foam (optional). 2. Heat the printed part with the heat gun until it becomes pliable. 3. Fold and adjust the printed part to fit snugly on the calliper, ensuring a secure attachment. 4. Place the adapter firmly on the top right and down left sides of the caliper. 5. Add foam (if using) for extra grip and comfort. 6. The adapter is now ready for use.
