Tec 305-12 hotmelt glue gun trigger link
thingiverse
This part is intended to replace a damaged Tec 305-12 Hotmelt glue gun trigger link. The original component was thin and featured a hole situated near the edge, which broke at that exact spot. This replacement part is wider and thicker, yet still fits snugly inside its predecessor. I created two versions of this replacement part: one with a screw hole for the axle and another without it. My reasoning behind this design decision lies in the fact that the axle itself is thin and cannot be made thicker due to size constraints. Moreover, being a 3D printed component, it is inherently weaker than its original counterpart. To reinforce the axle, I opted to add a small screw, which can be seen in one of the accompanying pictures. A 5/8" long #3 flat head machine screw was chosen for this purpose and tapped into place. The part was printed from ABS plastic with the intention of withstanding the high temperatures within the glue gun. Due to its design, the axle requires slower print speeds and additional cooling. Additionally, supports were necessary for the lock protrusions during the printing process.
