Teardrop Speakers

I designed a set of speakers using the teardrop back ported construction specifically for the Dayton Audio PS95-8 3-1/2" Point Source Full Range Driver 8 Ohm, and they were tuned accordingly. The speakers print in two parts that twist lock together. Generally, they print without support, but you'll need to use it for the main body when printing driver end down. Your printer needs to be well-calibrated so the twist lock works straight off the bed - otherwise, a little sanding will be necessary due to low tolerances required for a tight fit. They have holes for pegs towards the back of the speaker and I personally added acoustifill (essentially stuffing) inside mine, allowing for airflow out the port to give it a little more depth and richness. I'm extremely satisfied with the final sound after driver break-in. Mine were printed in Hatchbox woodfil and then given six coats of satin lacquer after sanding almost smooth. I left some print lines, but you can do them however you like. I believe that using softer wood filament was beneficial to the sound.
