Buying a new Team Durango 2WD gear cover is a luxury that's no longer within reach, and if you do manage to find one, it'll likely cost as much as unicorn manure. So I took matters into my own hands and designed one from scratch. It fits perfectly onto the original gearbox plate and even wraps over the edge, unlike the original design. However, depending on your specific gearbox configuration - RM3/4 or MM3/4 - you might need to remove a small portion of the edge-wrap where it could potentially collide with the suspension pin holder. My trusty 3D printer has been around for a while now, and I've always struggled with support material. To address this issue, I created two different STL files: one includes modelled support at 0.5mm thick and 1mm spaced, with a deliberate 0.2mm breakable gap between the support and the print in most areas. The other file requires your slicing software to generate the support automatically. After successfully printing the first version on my DEST210 project - which features a non-standard finned motor plate - I'm eager to hear if you'd like me to make any adjustments.
