Team Associated RC10T2 Battery Box/Strap

thingiverse

Battery box/retainer and strap for the Team Associated RC10T2. This design is basically a modified version of the Tamiya Super Astute remixed battery box that I modeled earlier, that has been modified to attach to the RC10T2 chassis. It also has built in slots to allow you to pass wires from one side of the chassis to the other. 4-40 x 3/8 screws can be used to attach the battery box to the chassis. If you modified the models to go to a slightly larger diameter, you may be able to get M3 screws to work (although there is not a lot of wall thickness to the box to do that). For the battery retention feature, I wanted to use M3 thumb nuts because all my other vehicles currently use those or body clips. If you thread in a 3x20 mm stud, you can then use most M3 thumb nuts to hold the strap down. The stock strap could be made to work - but you would want to change the hole positioning on the battery box. The strap is basic - I may redesign at some point to increase stiffness or add some lateral retention features, but currently the box should be able to hold in place most battery packs.
