Team 2051 2023 Robot "Derrick"

This is our 2023 FRC Robot nicknamed "Derrick". With team 2051 officially retiring from FRC at of the conclusion of the 2023 season, we wanted to upload or most ambitious robot created by Team 2051 in hopes that other teams can use it for future reference and potential design ideas. It incorporates a 270 degree rotating telescopic arm and a rotating and pivoting wrist assembly with an intake style gripper for picking up the cubes and cones for the 2023 game. All of this is attached to an 8-wheel drive 2-speed tank style chassis.The entirety of the design is made from off the shelf components from Vex Robotics, West Coast Products, Rev Robotics, McMaster-Carr, Lowes and Amazon. All of the custom parts were created using a 3 axis router table to cut out all the sheet metal parts, extrusion and polycarbonate, and a sheet metal brake to bend the necessary parts. A 3D printer was used to create some of the more intricate or low stress parts.All bent sheet metal parts were made from various thicknesses of 5052-H32 Aluminum Sheet, and non-bent parts were made from various thicknesses of 6061-T651 Aluminum Sheet. All of the tubing used is 6061-T6. All green parts shown in the model were made from 6mm thick smoked polycarbonate sheet, and all red parts (minus the bumpers) were 3D printed.This robot was a fun challenge and a labor of love for everyone involved, so thank you if you are one of the many that helped along the way!Hope you enjoy!Team 2051
