Teacup Dragon Puppet
cults3d
Meet the Queen of Teacup Dragons! She's an expert on the British tradition of high tea, but she has one flaw: she can't resist overindulging in the treats, which explains her rounded physique. This design was created especially for the "Pet Monster Contest" sponsored by Makerbot and 3D Artist Magazine. I wanted to make something that could behave like a real pet, so I incorporated puppetry elements into this design. You can control her head with the rod below her body, and even make her mouth speak. Check out this video of her in action: http://youtu.be/-MZwydD6jIE If any of my designs win the contest, I plan to donate the prize Makerbot to our local DIY space called DIYode. I have an UP! 3D printer, and I'd love to get access to a Makerbot as well as share my passion for 3D printing with others. UPDATE: A couple of parts in this file have been updated. There was a slicing issue that looked concerning because the bottom was slightly uneven (a result of boolean functions). The problem didn't affect the print, but it made one stage of printing tricky for some people. The bottoms are now perfectly even.
