Many people are unsure of what to purchase for building a quadcopter. They also wonder how to build one that can fly longer and higher. I will now explain how to build a quadcopter like this. Next, I will teach you how to build a large quadcopter, listing the necessary materials. How do you test and assemble the system? I designed This These are my Materials Balance charger My Lipo Battery About Lipo batteries, I chose a 3S Lipo battery. (Recommend 3S-4S lipo battery, if you want to build a racing quad, you need a high discharge rate battery) Propellers The motors ESC 3 black lines together are control lines, red with black is power line, they can supply power to the main control board, the red line and black hook up to the battery. Frame with landing gear, 450mm Auxiliary materials, the power source on the right, the measurement of battery voltage alarm near it. Flight control board Because I debugged the system of the large quadcopter by myself, I didn't choose a finished flight control and remote control. Instead, I DIYed a crazyfile flight control board. This is why I chose the crazyfile board: 1. Open source systems, 2. Reasonable system architecture, more complete help documentation and system documentation After you choose the flight control program, we should make a plan for development. DIYing a flight control program isn't like buying a finished product. Most finished products are very reliable, and you don't even need to test and fly it. But DIYing a flight control requires careful testing, so you can have a successful flight test. If not, it will be very dangerous because the motor and plane body are very heavy. First, we should test the motor part of the flight control, because I used the crazyfile, so the system works well. However, you need to control the brushless motor using Electronic Speed Control (ESC). Flight control uses PWM to control ESC, which is not simple. General ESC receives a signal range from 50Hz to 400Hz. Because the ESC receives the motor speed control signal, it's not just getting a duty cycle. The actual use of PPM signals is a simple point: in a pulse, 1ms high level represents the lowest throttle, and 2ms represents the maximum throttle. Anything else is low. The 0-100% throttle control is controlled by the high-level 1ms-2ms pulse. So the signal must have at least a 2ms cycle, with a frequency of 500Hz. Second, transform the circuit board of crazyflie. Pull out the power source and hook up the ESC 5V output port. Docking the ESC PWM signal is a small board on Crazyflie, but it's very weak, so you must fix the lines carefully. I used two official PWN interfaces, which are easy to weld, and the other two lead from the small expanded hole. Then we need to change the drive, hook up an ESC to the power source board, transform the battery interfaces, hook up the flight control board's power interface, provide power to the flight control board. The PWM signal input line leads out, docking the flight control board. Use the crazyfile on PC; you can see many data information. I don't have a dedicated remote control, so I used my Xbox One to control and test the speed of the motors. If there are no problems, you can test all the ESC and motors first, making sure everything is OK. When testing the motors, you should test the maximum and minimum accelerators, and pay attention to lost control signals. If signals are lost, the motors must stop working (if not, your drone might crash). After motor control, I began assembly, frame assembly being very simple. Installed power distribution board Installed power distribution board First turn on the power and flight control board, debug the rotation direction of the motor, keep up with crazyflie. Brushless motor change motors direction by exchanging 2 of the 3 input signals. Confirm it is OK, fixed flight control board Propellers must use a screwdriver to tighten Complete assembly Tie up all the lines. Crazyflie flight control Very large propeller Special apron Ok, this is my DIY quadcopter. What do you think?
