This is a compact tea timer that employs a linear drive to extract the gallon of tea. I utilized a small geared stepper motor to power the linear drive. The ten LEDs display the timer state, and over a knob you can set the time from one to ten minutes. ### 1st UPDATE I made some alterations to the rear cover and added a small plate to hold a PCB. Another component I modified was the gallon holder's length. ### 2nd UPDATE I made changes to the top/bottom covers and added a belt guide to place two endstop switches, as well as other minor adjustments. ### 3rd UPDATE I included the latest version and also provided Fusion360 files. ### 4th UPDATE I added a simple Arduino test sketch. Design of an easy PCB is currently in progress. ### 5th UPDATE I added a straightforward PCB and an Eagle project. I replaced the Arduino with an ESP8266 12E to make other ideas feasible, like Alexa integration. # BUILD INSTRUCTION Later on, I will post a concise manual on how to build this device. # ELECTRIC PARTS * A thirty-centimeter GT20 belt * Two GT20 pulleys * One M5 twenty-millimeter screw (for the belt) * One M5 lock nut * Two M3 ten-millimeter screws (for the motor) * Two light gates like TCXT2103 (for end switches) * Twelve M4 screws ten to sixteen millimeters long (optional, can be replaced with glue) * Twelve M4 lock nuts (optional, can be replaced with glue) * Washers in sizes M4/M5/M3 * Ten 3-millimeter LEDs * Ten 100-ohm resistors for 3-volt LEDs * One Arduino Nano * One encoder with a pushbutton * One A4988 stepper driver * One twelve-volt, two-phase mini stepper motor (similar to https://www.ebay.de/itm/DC-12V-2-phase-4-wire-gear-stepper-motor-Full-metal-Geared-box-Schrittmotor/253181270426?hash=item3af2c7999a:g:ckkAAOSw7ThUnNif) * One four-millimeter aluminum pipe, fifteen centimeters long * One four-millimeter aluminum pipe, fifteen centimeters long (length depends on the cup you want to use) # 3D PRINTED PARTS * Back cover weighs 102 grams * Belt holder weighs eleven grams * Bottom plate weighs twenty-three grams * Clamp holder weighs seven grams * Guide left weighs seven grams * Linear drive case weighs one hundred two grams * PCB holder weighs twelve grams (optional) * Two pipe holders weigh three grams each * Top plate weighs twenty-three grams Total filament used is 293 grams, with eighty percent infill.
