TDA7492P Case

TDA7492P Case

thingiverse

I designed this remix of a couple of TDA7492P cases from Thingiverse, which were originally created for different versions of my board or too tight to fit my particular SW-HF01 V3.2 150901 board perfectly. I give full credit to the original designers and am grateful for their inspiration. The design has a 1-2 mm clearance all around this specific board. To keep things simple, I chose a lid with four corner feet that double as push downs to hold the board firmly against its mounting stand-offs and friction latches to secure the lid in place. This setup works surprisingly well, despite the layer ridges inherent in 3D printing. However, one complication arises when the lid sides are narrow, causing it to warp as it cools down, like mine did, as you can see in some of the pictures. Adding internal longitudinal stiffening ribs might help prevent this issue from happening. I included photos of my first print on a Monoprice Select Mini with gray Hatchbox PLA, which I spray painted with super cheap Dollar General glossy black. Now, I'm eager to experiment with automotive filler primer to see how much of the layer striations can be filled in for a smooth surface. This was a quick afternoon v1.0 project for me; feel free to modify it as you like. The design was created using Tinkercad, and you can edit it online at https://www.tinkercad.com/things/9zZl1ZCJsnl.
