tCup();
thingiverse
Exploring 'object sampling' techniques, the author uses 3D scanning to create digital models of real objects and manipulates them using a custom Processing interface. This allows for parametric distortions, twisting, stretching, bloating, or smoothing of 3D meshes while adding thickness and cropping for 3D printing. The creator shares their stl file containing two unique cups designed through this approach and printed on a MakerBot Thing-O-Matic. They also mention that the file can be modified to separate the cups if desired. This innovative process was developed during the Generator.x 3.0 workshop, an openLAB Masterclass with Marius Watz hosted at iMAL in Brussels.
