Human: Okay, one thing that can be tricky is getting the Gemini into a perfect orientation for leveling, and it's due to no flat surfaces except for a small area under the motors on the CF legs. I just finished designing a 3D printed Gemini leveling stand. It consists of a base with two circular posts that insert tightly into holes underneath the center two motors in the CF frame. These posts press until the frame rests against the larger diameter of the stand. When flush, the printed base will provide an easier way to ensure the Gemini is in the proper orientation for setting level. In front of the base is an arm with protruding stand-offs that have a recess for a standard 1/4-20 nut and large head machine screw. This screw can be threaded up or down until it presses against the bottom case towards the front of the Gemini, ensuring motor shafts are perfectly vertical. If you place the 3D printed base on a perfectly level surface and adjust the machine screw until the motor shafts are vertical, you'll have a perfect hovering position for calibrating level. I scaled up this model in X and Y by a factor of 1.019 to allow for ABS shrinkage on my printer. You might need to alter this scale for your chosen printer and material type to get it precisely correct dimensionally. I updated the design! The new version includes a smaller outer base, faster printing times, a groove on each side to provide a visual cue for vertical alignment, and slightly smaller diameter inserts. Here are my printing settings: 20% infill, two shells, and no supports required. Note that the file has been scaled up in X and Y by a factor of 1.019 to account for ABS shrinkage on my printer. Your printer may behave differently if you use different materials or techniques.
