TBS Gemini DX-201 Camera Mount
thingiverse
After ten flights with my Gemini racer, the stock board camera had finally met its demise. With a DX-201 camera waiting patiently on my shelf, I saw an opportunity to upgrade. This awesome camera deserved a custom mount to fit snugly in the Gemini's body. I tackled the challenge head-on and successfully designed a mount that fits like a glove, leaving all original canopies and electronics untouched. Even better, you can still hang your Mobius from it exactly as before. The DX-201 mount is an effortless drop-in replacement for the Gemini stock mount. To complete the build, you'll only need a DX-201 camera, its cable, and two 2mm x 6mm long screws - all other hardware remains the same. Update: On February 17th, I revisited my original design to refine it. The revised "whole" version now boasts chamfered edges where the DX-201 lens housing meets the printed part. **Instructions for Printing** The full version of this mount is geared towards users who either aren't bothered by supports or have a high-end printer capable of printing complex designs without them. However, if you dislike the use of supports altogether, try opting for the split version, which involves gluing the two parts together after assembly - an approach that works just as well. For best results, print with 100% infill and use two shells. Don't forget to clean up any small holes with a 2mm drill bit after printing. I've tested this mount extensively and can confirm it doesn't require you to reposition the stock electronics in any way - all that's changed is the lens pokes out from the front of the canopy by about 4mm, but trust me, it looks great. **Important Printing Note** Just like my other projects, these models are designed with ABS shrinkage in mind and have been scaled up to 1.019 in both x and y axes. You might need to adjust this scale based on your printer's specifications and chosen material for the best results.
