TBS Discovery Gimbal Mount
thingiverse
Here's a design that I consider perfect for mounting the TBS Discovery Gimbal. Using quality propellers will drastically reduce course vibration, allowing only the slightest of shakes to reach your camera. The standard rubber grommet-style mounts just aren't good enough at absorbing these minute vibrations, making it challenging to capture smooth footage. My new mount lets you slip four rubber grommets over the front two standoffs and wedge the mount snugly between the frame plates and outer parts of the grommet, essentially disconnecting the mount from the frame's structure. This results in a sturdy yet surprisingly smooth mount (perfect for more aggressive flight maneuvers, as shown midway through my second video), while removing the majority of fine vibrations typically found in most people's videos. Check out these proof-of-concept videos shot using this very same gimbal to see its effectiveness firsthand. Sorry about the subpar quality; unfortunately, my trusty GoPro is nearing retirement status. However, I'm expecting top-notch 2.7k footage from my Xiaomi Yi in the near future once it's optimized and retuned for seamless performance - keep an eye out for updates!
