ABANDONED. I'm sorry to say, but I have abandoned this project. After doing some more designing of other printers and research, I realize this design is very impractical. It's here if anyone else wants to build off of it. This is my custom designed 3D printer currently named the Tazmania 3D Printer. The printer is meant to resemble the Lulzbot Taz 6 3D Printer. My goal in designing this printer was to achieve near perfect dual extrusion print quality with no compromises. Features in the design include Misumi linear rails, independent dual X carriages for dual extrusion (IDEX), a 300mm x 300mm x 360mm print volume, and more. Key components of the Tazmania 3D Printer are its quad 12mm width rails for the Z axis, quad 42mm width rails for the X and U axis, and dual 15mm width rails for the Y axis. The printer features high torque Nema 17 stepper motors, a Duet Ethernet 32 bit controller, and a 24v power supply for smoother stepper motor movement. A 110v silicone heater provides fast heating times, while Lulzbot Taz like auto bed leveling ensures accurate prints. The printer also comes with a Paneldue 4.3" touchscreen and Reprapfirmware.
