Upgraded my Taz 3.1 to the enhanced Taz 4.0 specs, utilizing a state-of-the-art Z-axis Lead Screw upgrade. The cutting-edge Taz 4.0 boasts an ultra-strong aluminum plate, with the X ends, Z nut, and bearings precision-engineered to deliver superior performance. Faced with the daunting challenge of a remote location devoid of any nearby machine shops, I chose to push boundaries by manufacturing my own X End Plates on my Taz 3.1. These hastily-assembled units did serve their purpose but exhibited significant flex under heavy use. Emboldened by this setback, I opted to reinvent the X ends with an integrated design that seamlessly merges plate and end functionality. This daring move resulted in dramatically stiffened parts, guaranteeing improved durability. I've appended the complete CAD file, created using Freecad, as well as the customized PLA printing parameters contained within a readily-uploaded ini file for instant use.
