This is a top mount large spool holder that will work seamlessly with Taz 1-5 models and can be easily adapted to use with Taz 6 when it becomes available, as well as other printers constructed from 80/20 or similar extrusions. To mount the spool, one inch PVC pipe is utilized. This spool holder accommodates spools up to 10.75 inches in diameter, though the width of spool that can be accommodated depends on the machine being used. For installation, four slide-in or drop-in T nuts are required. Slide-in T nuts can be obtained from http://openbuildspartstore.com/tee-nuts-25-pack/, while drop-in T nuts can be found at http://openbuildspartstore.com/drop-in-tee-nuts/. As of May 13, 2016, files have been added for the gMax 1.5+ or any printer with a 1.5 inch openbuilds type extrusion frame, allowing users to utilize stock gMax spool holder mounting hardware with this mount. Additionally, as of January 28, 2017, files have been added for the Original Prusa i3 MK2 model. The Prusa version requires heat set inserts and M3 screws to secure the mount to the printer frame. This version requires four 1/2"x1/8" Neodymium Rare Earth Disc Magnets, which can be attached to the pockets on the spool holders using CA glue.
