TAZ Filament Guide Tube Restrainer
thingiverse
This clip is specifically designed for installation on top of the TAZ printer's tool head.\nIt's a must-have component for securely holding one end of the filament guide tube, thus reducing strain on brittle filaments such as low-cost PLA, preventing them from snapping during printing.\nTo start, mark a precise hole location on the tool head by using this clip as a template. Next, drill slowly and carefully to create a hole large enough to accommodate a heat-set copper insert. For this particular project, I opted for an M2.5 screw insert with a length of 16 mm. You'll need to meticulously drill a hole for the heat-set insert on the tool head (refer to the photo to determine its exact location). To proceed, use this clip as a guide to mark the spot where you'll be drilling the hole. Then, employ a small drill bit to carefully mark the hole's center, followed by using an appropriately sized drill bit to drill a precise depth for your heat-set insert. Once completed, firmly press the insert into place and that's it – installation is now complete.
