Taz 7 style hybrid bed belt clamp for a Taz 6
prusaprinters

The Taz 6 belt clamp is weaker than the one the Taz 5 and previous had, and has been a source of issues for the otherwise generally more robust taz 6. The new Taz 7 beta parts look better, but they changed the geometry on them so they don't line up with the stock taz 6 mount spots. This project combines the Taz 6 and Taz 7 styles, taking the better elements from both, and combines them into a taz 6 form factor. I then also made a version 2 that adds 2 more heat set inserts and splits the belt mounts for easier adjusting of one side of the belt.

You will also need 4 M5 heat set inserts (or 2 for version 1) 4 M2 heat set inserts, the stock limit switch bolts and switches, the stock bed bolts, 2 or 4 M3 botls and washers, probably 8mm for the bolts? to hold the belt down. The path is a bit different than the stock 6, so be prepared to fit a slightly longer belt if needed. The overall geometry should be the same though.

Let me know if it needs any changes!

Edit 1: Apparently there is an already existing stock lulzbot upgrade similar to this I didn't see. it's available here if you want a more factory supported variant: https://devel.lulzbot.com/TAZ/Olive/production\_parts/printed\_parts/y\_belt\_mount/

Print instructions

Category: 3D Printer Parts Summary

The Taz 6 belt clamp is weaker than the one the Taz 5 and previous had, and has been a source of issues for the otherwise generally more robust taz 6.
