Taz 6 Workhorse Low Profile X Carriage Cover
thingiverse
Hello, Internets! I have modded a Taz 6 into a Taz Workhorse; actually, it's better than the Taz Workhorse because it's rockin' a 32 bit Archim board. But I digress. I call this beast a "Taz 6+ Workhorse". The Taz Workhorse carriage design causes the carriage to go just *slightly* above the top of the 2020 rail; if you are using a Printed Solid Enclosure for a Taz 6, this causes it to bow / deflect the top enclosure cover. The PS Enclosure for the Taz Workhorse worked around this by putting this massive 55mm "cap" over the top instead of using a flat piece of plexi. No thanks, for a few reasons. So: Enter this mod. This mod is a 'lower profile' X Carriage cover that solves that problem. It allows the toolhead to home such that *just* stays within the top 2020 rail without deflecting the enclosure cap, and allows me to keep using the Printed Solid enclosure for my Taz 6 without strange "it doesn't quite fit". Use at your own risk, YMMV, probably voids warranty, standard disclaimers. Print in ABS with the same settings as the Lulzbot Workhorse Carriage Cover GCode. Cheers,
