Taz 5 Plotter Tool Head
thingiverse
I have designed a custom plotter tool head that accommodates either a Sharpie or pen. This holder attaches securely to a standard Taz 5 extruder mount, ensuring precise alignment. The included lulzbot mount, outer housing, and two distinct inner slides cater specifically to Sharpie or Bic pen requirements. After printing is complete, simply screw the housing onto the toolhead using a pair of screws, insert the desired slide, and a .750" OD x .625" ID spring at least 1.500" long. I sourced this spring from a local hardware store. Next, swap the extruder with this head, insert a 100k resistor in the socket that would normally attach to the thermistor, home the Z axis, raise the tool 1 mm, and then insert a pen from the top, tightening the front screw to lock it securely in place. To generate the necessary gcode, I followed the instructions at https://medium.com/@urish/how-to-turn-your-3d-printer-into-a-plotter-in-one-hour-d6fe14559f1a and started at Step 3.
