This is a custom "hat" designed specifically for the Lulzbot Taz Y axis motor mount that enables a 14 mm dia x 5mm thick x 5mm shaft 605zz bearing to fit snugly on top of the upper portion of the shaft, just above the belt mount. This project also includes a remix of the Lulzbot taz Y axis motor mount variant 2.4, which is compatible with Taz 1-5 models and features several key improvements. It boasts reinforced sides and gussets for added strength, smaller mounting holes for the motor to reduce wear and tear, clearance for a motor vibration damper to minimize vibrations, and space below for a future cable path mounting cover that is currently in development. To fully leverage these features, users will need to install 2 M2 heat set inserts and 2 M3 heat set inserts. However, the motor mount is entirely optional, and users can simply ignore it if they prefer to focus on the bearing assembly alone. It's worth noting that the hat itself will fit a Taz 6 model, but the optional motor mount is not compatible with this specific model. Finally, they simply need to position the bearing at the top of the cap, bolt everything down tightly, and they're ready to go!
