
Taxidea Taxus, American Badger

This specimen of Taxidea was gathered in Humboldt Co., Nevada, 35 miles west and 6 miles south of Denio (near the Oregon state line), by S. B. Benson and R. W. Young during the winter of 1931. The individual Taxidea at this time was a subadult since it had fully erupted but unworn permanent dentition and the cranial sutures were not completely fused together. The sagittal crest had yet to form on this individual. The sex of this individual is unknown.
