Reproduction through photogrammetry of a museum store model of an Egyptian sculpture, Taweret, is successfully accomplished by capturing its intricate details with precision. This goddess has the head of a hippopotamus, robust limbs like those of a lion, and a tail reminiscent of a crocodile's ferocity. The original sculpture dates back to 664-610 BCE, showcasing ancient craftsmanship and artistry. Found underwater in Abukir Bay in 2001, the statue stands an impressive 96cm tall, its history and significance undeniable. Capturing this model proved challenging due to its smooth, reflective surface, which made it difficult to obtain clear images. To overcome this obstacle, I resorted to dusting the model with talc, a technique that ultimately yielded acceptable results despite some minor defects remaining. The .obj and .mtl files are included for your reference, allowing you to view the capture in color and clearly observe the talc coating. Despite the imperfections, it is hoped that you can still appreciate the beauty and power of the original sculpture, a true masterpiece from ancient Egypt.
