Tau Tank/Skimmer Sturdy Hovering Base

I have discovered that standard Games Workshop large hovering bases are not sturdy enough to support the weight of my Tau Devilfish and Hammerheads safely. Especially on inclines, it was like a bowling ball balanced on a broomstick. Therefore, I designed a better solution. If you want, you may benefit too, for the greater good: 1. I 3D printed the round base with a U-shaped groove (download attached). 2. For a sturdy stand component, I ordered a package of small coin display stands that fit perfectly into the U-shaped groove: https://smile.amazon.com/Display-Acrylic-Holder-Watches-Lighters/dp/B00BNPVB4A/ 3. Using a Dremel cutting tool, I severed the "L" ends and drilled four holes to receive magnets. Then, I sanded smooth around the contours of the bottom of my skimmers. 4. Next, I used Nickel Plated N52 neodymium disk magnets from K&J Magnetics: (four) D22-N52 with a 1/8" diameter x 1/8" thickness and (four) D24-N52 with a 1/8" diameter x 1/4" thickness. 5. I checked the balance of my model, then aligned the stand underneath where I wanted it to be. Then I carefully marked four locations onto my model and drilled out 1/8" diameter holes. Next, I glued in the magnets with super glue (model) and Testor's clear parts cement (stand). 6. After that, I primed and painted grass color into the U-shaped groove and all over the base. 7. Then, I glued Woodland Scenics green turf over the surface of the base. 8. Finally, I glued the clear part into the base using a healthy amount of Testor's clear parts cement and sprinkled some extra green turf into the glue that was extruded out of the groove. They work great and I love them!
