This is a Steel Frame Improved Design for Anet A8 3D Printer. Version 1.1 Code Name Hayabusa Released in January 2018; Consider Upgrading to Newer Version for Laser Cutting - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2736479 (For A6 Version, Visit: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2693658) Myself and Tommaso Collini Collaborated on Implementing an Easy Solution to Common Issues Found in Anet A8 Printers and Cartesian Printers. We Believe Tatara Frame is the Best Steel Frame to Build. In Our Design, All Parts Interlock for Great Stiffness and Perfect Geometry in Three Dimensions. What Sets Our Design Apart: XY Frame Enhances Rigidity, Allowing Printing Speeds of 150-180mm/sec, 20-25mm/sec2 Jerk, and 1200 mm/sec2 Print Acceleration with Good Quality. Optional 6-Level Foot for Printer Leveling; Nyloc/Lock Nuts Compatible by Design; Many Small Improvements Ensure Frame Rigidness with Minimal Resonance During Printing. Frame Weighs Over 9 Kg, Making it Extremely Heavy. While Weight May be a Concern for Overseas Sellers, It's a Feature in Our Design: Lower Center of Gravity and Increased Inertia Reduce High-Frequency Vibration. Why Steel? Steel Offers the Best Ratio of Stiffness to Cost/Volume. To Achieve Similar Stiffness with Other Materials, You'd Need at Least Three Times Thicker Sheets. Manufacture from Carbon Steel or Stainless Steel; Suggest Using Material with a Minimum Young Modulus of 196 GPa (Verify Before Cutting Your Frame). Designed for 3mm Thickness; Detailed Screw and Nut List Available - https://issuu.com/tatarasteelframe/docs/tatara_steel_a8_v100_-_parts_list ChangeLog: V100b: Final Version Before Moving to V1.10, Cleaned Up .DWG Files; V100: Small Mod on X/Y Frame for Cable Pass Through; RC2 v04: Modified Y Front and Back Frames; Remember to Ground the Steel Frame Electrically. The Name Tatara Refers to the Japanese Sword Forge; We Designed the Frame from Scratch, Inspired by Community Efforts and Engineering Challenges in 3D Printing. Bed Support Design on V1.00 Takes Inspiration from P3Steel (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:157303) and Prusa i3 Improved for Laser Cutting (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:39889).
