Tatami Tilings Set: Square Grid, 1x1 Monomino and 1x2 Domino Tiles
thingiverse
Human: A tatami tiling is a grid covering that uses domino tiles (1x2) and monomino tiles (1x1) to prevent any four tiles from meeting. It's fascinating, mathematically, and I used this concept for my PhD research, uncovering many interesting configurations. As an inventor at heart, I created some models for you to explore these patterns. The grid's shape makes it simple to create multiple tile configurations. To print the grid, choose a contrasting color that allows you to see the lines separating tiles clearly. The "NO FOUR TILES MEET" tatami condition can also be expressed as covering the grid so that the visible lines do not form the "+" shape seen in one example tiling.
