Tasting Glass Holder
thingiverse
This is perfect for Oktoberfest, Beer Festivals, etc., where you can enjoy your tasting glass without worrying about it getting in the way. It holds your glass securely, freeing up your hands to grab pretzels and burgers. To print this item, you'll need approximately 110 cm of paracord or a similar material. I set my printer to print upside down so that the side with a nicer finish becomes the top. Since I print on glass, this side usually turns out nice and glossy. If you disagree, feel free to flip it over. I recommend printing this item in ABS or PETG for best results. While PLA will work fine, leaving it in your car or exposing it to direct sunlight may cause deformation. You might not need a brim with ABS (I didn't), but if your print bed warps, add a 20-line brim and that should hold it down. Once you've printed the item, pull a length of paracord through and tie knots in each end. Then use a flame to burn off any stray ends on the paracord. If you don't do this, they'll fray. Be careful, as the nylon in the paracord stays hot for a while (I learned this the hard way). This design isn't a work of art, but it's incredibly handy at beer festivals. It should fit most tasting glasses I've encountered, but it won't fit all. If you need to accommodate a larger glass, simply scale up the x/y plane. Just be aware that the paracord holes will scale up too, and eventually become too large. In this case, I've included the source file so you can scale up and leave the cord holes intact if you have basic CAD skills. Prost! Print Settings: Printer: Wanhao Duplicator i3 Plus Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 35 Notes: I used 0.8mm top/bottom thickness and 2 shells (0.4 nozzle x 2 shells = 0.8 total).
