Tassel-O-Matic

As a graduating student with a B.S. in Engineering, I needed something truly special to make my graduation ceremony unforgettable. Designed and printed days before the big day, it added an undeniable amount of nerdy flair to the entire event. This accessory slides effortlessly onto the graduation cap, underneath the button without causing any damage to the cap at all so they can be returned if needed. From personal experience, I highly recommend using a small piece of tape to keep everything secure while turning the crank. Printing Tips: Print the crank and baseplate with support material, the crank on its side for optimal results. The rest of the parts should be printable without any extra considerations. Assembly Instructions: I had some spare hardware lying around that made it look even more nerdy, but it's completely unnecessary. You could use a piece of a wire coat hanger to hold the crank and linkage arms in place, simply glue them into the small holes to keep them from falling out.
