Tashkent — Soviet Tier IX destroyer. A high-speed flotilla leader designed to conduct extensive reconnaissance missions within squadrons and provide support for destroyers' powerful torpedo attacks. Commissioned by the U.S.S.R. Navy as part of Project 20I, she was constructed in Italy. During World War II, Tashkent boasted the title of fastest warship on the globe and largest ship of her class.
