As a one-man video recorder, I rely on audio input provided by two lavalier wireless microphones (Rode GO II). In addition I use a 4-channel Tascam DR 701D audio recorder attached under the camera. To allow it to run for hours, I power the recorder from a Voltaic V25 battery. I wanted a compact arrangement to house the battery, the cold shoe for the Rode receiver, attach to a Manfrotto style tripod head, have feet so it can sit safely on table, house a bluetooth transmitter, and provide cable management and all access to ports and buttons. Will work with the Tascam DR-70D also (has the same form factor as the 701D) I realize this is highly customized to my gear, but at least it is camera and mic agnostic. Hope it is useful.
