Tarp holder for rain gutter of a car

This is a bracket for attaching a tarp or awning to the rain gutter of a car or camper van. The holder consists of two parts: a strip that fits into the gutter and a C-shaped counterpart that presses the strip tight. The strip is placed in the gutter with its rounded side down, and an M5 nut is pressed into the recess on the underside. Two washers with a maximum diameter of 6.5 mm are inserted on top for added reinforcement. Two M5 nuts are also pressed into the inside of the C-shaped counterpart. Once the strip has been installed in the gutter, the C-shaped counterpart with its openings facing upwards is fitted. The strip is then pressed into the rain gutter using two outer screws (2x M5x18). The bracket can no longer slip out. To provide additional hold, a strip of double-sided adhesive tape can be applied underneath. An M5 nut and a washer are placed on the central screw (M5x45, hex), and then tightened until they stop. This creates a counter force to the two outer screws. Next, the nut on the central screw is tightened, connecting it to the bracket at two points. With this setup, a tarp or awning can now be attached. To create one of these brackets, you'll need the following materials: For 3D printing: - One strip for rain gutter - One C-shaped counterpart - Make sure the C-shaped counterpart is printed upright to increase stability, as the individual printing layers will be perpendicular to the mechanical load. - Use a UV-resistant filament. Screws and fasteners: - Two M5 x 18 screws - One M5 x 45 screw (longer screws are also possible) - Two M3 washers - One M5 washer - Three M5 nuts
