Tarmo5 "Beefed Up" Parts
thingiverse
These are the parts that I've managed to break (so far). In each case, I added some material in the area that broke. I haven't managed to break the beefed-up versions but with my driving... :) Attaching the Front Bearing Hubs to the Front Sus Mounts requires a total of 8-M4x14mm (front and back) screws instead of the 4-M4x40mm Also, you may need to drill out the steering link connecting holes to accommodate the M4 screws. I made them for an M3 screw because I use threaded rod connectors to make my Steering Links. This was the only change made to the Steering Arm, thus you only need these if you are switching to a threaded rod steering link. Edit 2-2-23 - I added a beefed-up Torque Dampener. It's a bit bigger and thus a bit stiffer. I'm not having any trouble with it but my gears and the other drive train parts are printed with Nylon (Alloy 910) which is a good bit tougher than PLA. User beware. The only change to the Gear Box was to thicken the bottom which was only 1mm thick and buckled on me. The End Chassis shouldn't see much force but somehow, a Steering Arm mounting hole broke out. Thus I thickened the area around the holes. That's it so far, but I'll keep trying to break it. :). Thanks Kris, for a really fun project!
