Tarmo4 Alternative Motor Inrunner 3650
thingiverse
I was struggling to locate the D3542 at a reasonable price in the UK due to lockdown stock shortages, so I decided to purchase an In-runner motor instead - specifically, the SURPASS Waterproof 3650 2300KV model. I'm aware this exceeds the recommended 1450KV rating, which has me concerned about potential torque issues, but we'll just have to wait and see. This build is still a work in progress since I haven't yet received the motor or had a chance to test its fit. However, I was able to print the motor mount without support, although you may need to use supports for the bolt holes. The centre chassis published here has the additional holes required for this project, so make sure to print that as well. Update: After adding a thicker and stronger Motor Mount to my original design due to flexing issues, I've upgraded to a 3670 model. So far, it seems like a good fit.
