Tarmo4 Accessories and Modifications

I have made modifications to numerous Tarmo4 original parts for various reasons. I have also designed a few useful and aesthetic add ons as well. Please be aware that modifying these parts is in no way an effort to undermine the original designs or Kris Shellman (KrisCubed), the person who created them. The Tarmo4 is an amazing feat of engineering and I am just happy to contribute to the community. Thanks Alot! Tarmo4 17mm Hex Wheel Bushing_Hex Nut Bushing for 1:8 scale wheels to facilitate the installation of a 4mm Lock nut to tighten the wheel to the wheel axle. This bushing is used when you are not using Tarmo4 17mm Hub Extender. Tarmo4 17mm Hex Wheel Bushing_Socket Head Bushing for 1:8 scale wheels to facilitate the installation of a 4mm x 12mm socket head screw to tighten the wheel to the axle. This bushing is used when you are using Tarmo4 17mm Hub Extender. Tarmo4 17mm Hub Extender Extender to allow the use of 1:8 scale wheels with no offset. This part allows the front wheels the clearance to turn without impedance from the steering linkage. To use this part, replace the hex head bolt that is recommended for the wheel axle, and use a 4mm lock nut in its place. A socket head screw can then be slipped through the slot in the extender and tightened into the nut. Another 4mm lock nut can then be inserted into the captive nut cutout on the non-slotted side of the extender, to facilitate the tightening of the wheel using a 4mm x 12mm socket head screw. Pair this with Tarmo4 17mm Hex Wheel Bushing_Socket Head. Note: If using this extender on the front wheels only, the front wheelbase will be wider than the rear. Tarmo4 17mm Hub This part allows the use of 1:8 scale wheels with a 17mm hex. Pair this with Tarmo4 17mm Hex Wheel Bushing_Hex Nut. Tarmo4 Battery Plate For Straps Battery box cover was eliminated and the battery plate has been widened for larger batteries. Slots were added to facilitate the use of mini quad style battery straps to secure the battery to the battery plate. Recommend adding a rubberized or silicone battery pad to help grip the battery. Tarmo4 Extended Front Shock Tower Extended the height of the front shock tower to accommodate longer shocks and modify the ride height. Tarmo4 Extended Rear Shock Tower Extended the height of the rear shock tower to accommodate longer shocks and modify the ride height. Tarmo4 Front Bumper Buggy style front bumper for Tarmo4. Print out of nylon if possible. Pair this with Tarmo4 Front Bumper Bracket using three 4mm x 12mm socket head screws and three 4mm lock nuts. Tarmo4 Front Bumper Bracket Front bumper bracket for Tarmo4. Print out of nylon if possible. Pair this with Tarmo4 Front Bumper and secure to the frame using the existing rear differential housing screws. Tarmo4 Motor Adapter Facilitates attaching of the out-runner motor to the input gear. Updated this part to make the center shaft hole and the shoulder relief holes slightly larger. Tarmo4 Modified Diff Input Gear Modified the differential input gear to allow the bearing to slide 1.5mm further onto the shaft. This ultimately increases the clearance in the gear mesh of the differential gear and the differential input gear. Use this part if the original part results in a gear mesh that binds or is otherwise too tight to operate smoothly. Tarmo4 Open Diff Bell Housing_2mm Screw Modified the open diff bell housing to allow the installation of a 2mm socket head screw and nut instead of a thick paperclip or wire to secure the Traxxas parts to the bell housing. Tarmo4 Rear Bumper Single piece rear bumper. Print out of nylon if possible. Secures to the frame using the existing rear differential housing screws. Tarmo4 Rear Spoiler Rear spoiler for Tarmo4. Pair with Tarmo4 Rear Spoiler Bracket using three 4mm x 25mm socket head screws and three 4mm lock nuts. Tarmo4 Rear Spoiler Bracket Rear spoiler bracket for Tarmo4. Pair with Tarmo4 Rear Spoiler and install to existing holes in the rear shock tower using three 4mm x 12mm socket head screws. Tarmo4 Modified Wheel Axle Modified the wheel axle to include a positive stop for the bearing. The original part tapered making the seating of the bearing dependent on printing accuracy resulting in inconsistent fit. Tarmo4 Front Differential w/ Screws Modified front differential gear that allows four m2 x 12mm to be installed to solidify the front differential assembly. Tarmo4 Dogbone (Reinforced) Reinforced version of the dogbones to make them a bit beefier. Recommend printing these out of nylon if possible as they have proven to be a high stress item. Tarmo4 Servo Mount w/ ESC Mount Remix of the original servo mount to include a convenient place to mount the recommended Hobbywing Quicrun 120a ESC. There is a surface where the capacitors can be mounted to the side of the ESC, as well as a surface where the switch can be mounted vertically to the rear of the ESC. In both cases use double sided tape like 3m VHB. Tarmo4 3mm Rod End Articulated rod end for the connection of the steering servo to the steering linkage. Use two of these and an appropriately sized length of 3mm threaded rod. As of 5-21-2020 these parts have all been tested to work properly. I will update the page if changes are made to any parts and I welcome any and all criticism and direction. Thanks all and good luck with your builds.
