Tarmo 3 handling upgrade
thingiverse
This is a major upgrade for the TARMO 3, replacing the original control arms used by Kris with new ones that significantly enhance performance. The modification extends both upper and lower control arm lengths by 30mm on either side, resulting in a broader car of 60mm overall. This wider stance contributes to improved stability at high speeds and a better roll centre. Additionally, the shocks can now absorb impacts more effectively than the stiffer setup with shorter control arms. Through extensive testing during prototyping, I've confirmed that these new control arms are lighter and stronger than their predecessors. While maintaining the original 60-70mm shock absorbers for this version, I plan to release a subsequent update featuring 100mm shocks for even superior shock absorption. When printing the steering arms, it's essential to import only one arm; however, if you mirror it in your slicer software, you'll create the opposite side. I'm preparing to upload a video of this modification in action on YouTube and will link it here as soon as possible. This upgrade dramatically alters the vehicle's behavior, providing an improved roll centre and centre of gravity that allows the car to lean into corners, especially at high speeds, much like a standard car. The effect of pressing the accelerator pedal is also notable, which looks quite impressive in my opinion. Overall, this modification will result in a 60mm wider vehicle.
